It is a long time since most women have been happy with the regular parades of skinny girls that present the latest creations of the top fashion designers. If the average woman was ever like these anorexic wraiths it was long before the stretch of living memory, and as Body Mass Indices continue to mount there are increasing demands for new fashions to be presented on figures that are more representative of the general population.

The healthy range of Body Mass Index (BMI) is from 20 to 25. The average for all English women in 1951 is reported to have been 24.4, within the healthy range but tending towards the upper limit. By 2004, the mean BMI had risen to 25.2 and the average woman was a little overweight. At the same time a typical fashion model had a BMI of about 18. It is obvious that this could not be representative of the typical Englishwoman and only a very small proportion of the population could relate to the models on the catwalk.

If BMI is a somewhat abstract concept, actual body measurements are easily understood. In 1951 the average waist measurement of Englishwomen was 70 centimetres (27.5 inches), and by 2004 this had increased to 86 centimetres (34 inches). How can a model with a 65 centimetre waist (25.5 inches) provide any indication of how a new dress style would look on the average woman?

But it's not only the average woman who yearns for adornment that is flattering, there are increasing numbers of women who are well above the recommended range of BMI. The proportion of Englishwomen who were considered to be obese increased from 17 percent in 1993-5 to 26 percent in 1011-13 and 45 percent of women now need dresses of size 16 and above.

While their figure shape bears little relationship to that of the typical fashion model, bigger women have their own special attraction that is appreciated by increasing numbers of men as well as by other women. This was recognised by Carole Shaw who in 1979 coined the phrase Big Beautiful Women (BBW) and started the popular women's magazine with that name. The familiarity of these initials testifies to the wide-scale appreciation of this band of sisters who are now variously described as Rubenesque, voluptuous and cuddly.

The fashion industry has been accused of waging psychological warfare in making average women feel unsatisfied with their body shape. A more sympathetic approach would seek to create various styles adapted to enhance the beauty of women of average and more generous proportions. The ultimate objective should be to help all women maximise their confidence in their own unique beauty and personality.
No clothing material provides a greater aura of luxury and glamour than silk. For long ages, this product of a humble insect has provided the adornment of queens, courtesans and all who sought a highly visible means of displaying not only beauty but also wealth and elevated status. In modern times, vastly increased production has made this adornment of affluence available to a much wider community while providing employment and wellbeing for thousands of deprived rural dwellers in some of the world's poorest countries.

Silk production started in China around 3000 BCE, spreading to India in the second century of the Common Era and to the Byzantine Empire in the sixth century. The industry is reputed to have reached Western Europe after Roger II of Sicily attacked Corinth and Thebes, two important centres of Byzantine silk production, during the second crusade in 1147.

The essential foundation of silk production is a mulberry plantation. The silkworm larvae feed upon mulberry leaves and spin a cocoon from a continuous filament of silk. Placing the cocoons in hot water dissolves away the gum binding the filament and allows it to be unwound onto a reel. Filaments are about 1000 metres in length but are so fine that 48 are needed to be spun together to constitute a single thread, and several threads may be plied to create yarn for weaving into cloth. This natural fibre is so light that it takes 5500 silkworms to produce one kilogram of raw yarn.

Silk is a natural renewable product made by thousands of small cultivators in some of the world's poorest countries. As such, it seems to have excellent green credentials. However, silk production has been criticised by animal-welfare activists because placing the cocoons in hot water kills the larvae. Mahatma Gandhi was critical of silk production based on the Ahimsa philosophy "not to hurt any living thing".

It could be said that every luxury comes at a price to nature but silk production does not threaten the extinction of a species in the same way as, for example, the trade in ivory or rhino horn. On the contrary, the growing demand for silk can only increase the global population of silkworms. Most people would agree that silk production is much greener than the manufacture of fibres from non-renewable mineral oil. Ladies seeking to share the elegance and romance of past ages are justified in choosing this most exquisite means of adornment.
As a plus sized person you've probably had plenty of awkward fashion moments when the clothes you wear just don't flatter you in the least. However, having a fuller figure shouldn't necessarily make you look unattractive as long as you know how to dress your curves well. In fact, your curves can make you look really hot if you know how to dress well.

- Balance your proportions so that your curves look very attractive in relation to each other. This will also help you present a trim silhouette, making you look less bulky. If your hips and bust are large, as they are likely to be, then you should avoid wearing tapering clothes that emphasise your bulkiness. Boot cut trousers or flared skirts will look best.

- Wear clothes that fit you perfectly, avoiding outfits that are both too loose and too tight. Ill-fitting clothes will make you look very dowdy. Many plus sized people wear large clothes or multiple layers in the mistaken belief that the clothes will hide their bulk. Clothes that skim your curves will look absolutely fantastic.

- Spend money on a well-fitting bra that gives your bust ample support and lifts it away from your abdomen. This will make you look not just slimmer but also more attractive.

- Try to choose prints that guide the viewer's eye vertically and not horizontally. This is especially important if you are a petite plus sized person. Incidentally, you should also avoid wearing small prints.

- Increasing the length of your legs with the help of high heels will help the viewer's eye go from top to bottom instead of from side to side.

- Show a bit of skin at the neck to break the monotony of a large expanse of cloth which also makes you look large. A vee-shaped neckline that is not plunging will look just right.

- Choose accessories that match your overall size. For instance, tiny bags will not look good on you because they will make you look larger than you actually are. The same applies to the jewelry that you wear. Chunky necklaces and bracelets will look great. If you wear delicate necklaces then you should be sure to layer them.

It is important to keep in mind that plus sizes come in different categories. While some full figured women have large busts, others might have wide hips or even a large tummy. Be sure to understand your body shape perfectly before you choose the right clothes and accessories that make you look your very best.
In its long history of perhaps more than five thousand years silk has been prized for its beauty, preserved as a state secret, reserved for royalty and condemned as decadent. Above all, it has been associated with women and feminine allure. Said to have been introduced by the Chinese Silk Goddess, Lady Hsi-Ling-Shih, wife of the mythical Yellow Emperor in about 3000 BCE, silkworm farming was for long ages restricted to women. Silk clothes became so popular among high society that this 'useless luxury product' was reserved by law for use only by the imperial family. Later, when silk exports reached Europe, the Roman Senate, anxious to stem the flow of gold to the East, declared the wearing of silk clothes to be decadent and immoral. Few material substances, have exhibited greater power to excite human passions than this product of a humble worm.

It seems that from the outset the Chinese realised the enormous value of silk as an export product and succeeded in guarding the secret of the silkworm for thousands of years. It is said that the Romans believed that silk came directly from the leaves of a tree but Pliny the Elder was better informed: speaking of the bombyx or silk moth, he wrote in his Natural Histories "They weave webs, like spiders, that become a luxurious clothing material for women, called silk." Roman artisans replaced yarn with valuable plain silk cloth from China, and Chinese coffers filled as they delivered silk to the Roman Empire, whose wealthy women admired its beauty.

The importation from China caused a huge outflow of gold and the Roman Senate issued several edicts to prohibit the wearing of silk, on moral as well as economic grounds: and silk clothes were condemned as decadent and immoral. One observer wrote that: 'I can see clothes of silk, if materials that do not hide the body, nor even one's decency, can be called clothes... Wretched flocks of maids labour so that the adulteress may be visible through her thin dress, so that her husband has no more acquaintance than any outsider or foreigner with his wife's body.'

So from ancient times silk became associated with female adornment that suggested not only wealth and high breeding but also voluptuousness and sensuality. In Europe many women believed that silk stockings added luxury to middle class dressing, giving a classic and royal look. Originally imported from Naples, the production of silk stockings was taken up in England in the sixteenth century and in later years English stockings were being exported to Italy and all over the world.

Down through the ages the high cost of silk reserved its use to queens, courtesans and the wives of rich merchants, but gradually as production increased it became affordable to more humble folk. China lagged behind Europe in this trend, and peasants were not granted the right to wear silk until the Qing dynasty (1644-1911). Nowadays, with increasing prosperity, although still regarded as luxury products, silk garments are becoming accessible to millions more in many countries. In spite of the appearance of synthetic substitutes, the unique properties of this natural product maintain its allure, liberating female beauty as well as male imagination. Now every woman can be a Silk Goddess.

Whether you're choosing a pair of pumps, boots, loafers or strappy sandals, knowing the details of high-quality footwear construction and design can help you make the best purchasing decision. Women with a large size foot find it very difficult to find good quality shoes. There is also an even greater chance that your shoes are causing you some kind of pain, from calluses to pinched toes. The shape and size of your feet change in small, but meaningful ways throughout adulthood. Most large size shoes are made from stretching a small size shoe making the new longer shoe very unstable and uncomfortable. From the earliest stages of construction, a "last", or the mold around which the shoe is made, should be designed with a larger foot in min. This is extremely important. Also large-sized shoe designers should continually focus on style and comfort, heel heights, toe box widths and the overall shape of the shoe. Once a last is constructed, skilled craftsmen use it to create works of art for your feet. The result is a great shoe that's comfortable and ready for your most hectic day.

Only the very highest quality shoes are finished by hand. This includes the uppers, the inner soles, the outer soles, and the hand embellishments. When there is careful attention paid to construction and workmanship, the stitches are usually not visible, or if they are, they are fine and even. In high quality shoes the soles are glued, stitched or both, and heels are attached securely to the shoe using a steel bolt instead of just glue and nails. Higher quality shoes are made using higher quality materials including soft and supple leather, snake and other animal skins, patent leather, suede, canvas and other fabrics such as satin or silk. The soles of shoes should be made from leather stacked with other materials for durability, and the heels should be designed and constructed for stability and strength, then covered for a gorgeous finish that displays the finest craftsmanship. There's a right way and a wrong way to make shoes, and everyone knows that leather soles are the hallmark of quality footwear. Traditionally made by molding leather to a wooden last, modern technology and many new materials have mechanized much of the manufacturing for most shoes. Leather soles affixed by skilled cobblers give the shoe a polished look and the undeniable feeling of pure luxury.

Shoes should not only look gorgeous on the outside, but beautiful on the inside as well. The shoe linings that are made from natural materials are flexible and absorb perspiration better than synthetic materials. The additional padding that should be in each pair of high quality shoes, softens your step, making you feel like you're walking on air!

At Sensational Soles, you'll find an amazing selection of quality, hand-finished shoes designed to complement any outfit. Unlike most manufacturers who design for "sample size" (Size 6 or 7) and simply elongate the shoe for larger sizes, we begin all of our designs with larger feet in mind. We engineer all of our platforms, heels and toe boxes for maximum comfort and stability while constantly striving to maintain a sleek and stylish appearance. If we can't get a design just right, we don't make it.

- Positive attitude leads to a positive self-image on how you feel and look. Project an undeniable and realistic appearance physically and mentally. Do this by releasing negative thoughts about your size and the way how people think about you.

- Determine which attributes you have and what works best for you. Do this by looking at what parts of your body ( for example; well-endowed breast or shapely legs) are more flattering and what will help give you that confident look which in turn will give your whole body a new look.

- Observe and test which colors accentuate you at your best, what you like and makes you feel good. If you have large hips, make them look sexier and more appealing by wearing a dark bottom. If you have a curvy body, wear an animal print that makes your total look sexy.

- When choosing a fabric to wear, choose one that is daring and fancy but charming. These types of fabrics are silk and chiffon-like. They usually feel soft and look appeasing to you and your mate.

- Positive compliments made by your mate, companion or husband will make a big difference in your attitude towards yourself and will also help your self-image.

- If you don't have a significant other to help boost your morale, just think about how good you look inside and out. Often times a new piece of lingerie will make all the difference in the world and add excitement to your life.

So you have a date tonight and you rummage through your closet trying to find that perfect outfit and the hours spent thinking thoughts of "I'd like to wear that shirt on my date, but what if he thinks my arms jiggle too much", What if he reaches to hug me and he feels that bit of back fat?", "What if I wear that skirt and he thinks my knees look bony" and finally "My feet! I can't wear those heels or flip flops!"

Ladies, the truth of the matter is that men don't see these "flaws" like you do. OK, well some do, but the reality of it is about 86 percent of men don't really care about those "flaws" that you see in yourself. So what do men really think of your body?

You hold that key in the amount of confidence you have in yourself. My journey is long in this department. But glad to say, not anymore! You see I had a problem with my body confidence. In my dating experience, men see that and when they notice your not comfortable in your own skin, it is not very attractive to them. It's not the flaws that you see in yourself that keep them away from you. It is YOU being uncomartable with who you are. Took me awhile to figure this out. The real challenge begins with you and how you see yourself. If your not confident about yourself how can anyone be confident in you?

How you perceive yourself in the mirror could be holding you back from enjoying all possibilities of a healthy and intimate relationship or keep you from encountering a successful dating journey on your path to meeting that man you want, job you want or even the current relationship you have now.

I know your reading this thinking "Sure, sure who is she and to give advice" I mean what does she know, right? Here's my story in a nutshell, I am a 38-year-old woman, with two boys, stretch marks from birthing these two, I currently weigh 154 pounds at approximately 5ft. 3" tall. Granted I am 60 pounds lighter than I was over a few years ago, which is something I am very proud of. For my own personal reasons, I strive at continuing to lose a few more pounds. Now a few years ago, I would have NEVER displayed the weight and stretch marks comment. I don't consider myself fat but I'm not skinny or completely toned, just yet. I hope that by displaying that personal info you can be reassured that I can totally relate to you.

What's my secret to overcoming the struggle with body confidence? It's very simple. Leave your comfort zone! You see, many years I was that woman who never tried anything new. I was too concerned what people thought and how I thought I looked to other people. Then I changed the pattern and started to concentrate on what I was going to do about it. How do I find peace with my body and find the confidence to enjoy the beauty not only on the inside but on outside as well? I asked myself "What do I need to change and how do I get outside of my comfort zone in order to finally break out of my shell. "

It starts with what you feed your mind. I'm sure you were guessing I would say it starts by exercising. No, I won't say that. But, what I will say is the way you perceive your body confidence and HOW you can get there is a psychological mindset and the way to enhance that thinking in a more postitive aspect is by experiencing things you have never experienced. Do something for YOU that makes YOU feel good about YOU!

For me, it was learning to change my lifestyle. From how and whom I socialized with to eating healthier!I don't mean going to your local bar or club or eating salads every night. But if what you are doing now is not working for you, then it is time to change it!

OK, so your hyped and ready to do this! Then here comes the excuses, "But I work, I have kids, someone needs to do the errands, I'm a single mother, I'm low on funds, or I just don't have the time"type of scenarios arise. Alright, so it was a little easier said then done. I mean I still had one child at home. I can cut back on the take out food and find something my son and I can do together. He was struggling trying to find a sport to his liking and he tried every sport out there and came then came across mixed martial arts. We checked into it and he loved it, he felt welcomed and found his place. I sat on the sidelines still pondering what to do about myself. To make a longer story a bit shorter, 6 months later I joined my son in this sport. Never in my life would I have thought of it as "Family Oriented" but was finding my self outside of my comfort zone.

What did this mean for me? Well, not only did I find something that my son and I can do together, but I also found confidence in myself. You see, I exceeded limits that I thought my body was not ever capable of achieving at my age, my weight and with no experience or knowledge in this sport. That is exercising your psychological mindset. When you feel great about your accomplishments, it pours out on your physical appearance, your happy about that and in the meantime your body is fearless, your confident in your own skin.

Prom night is reasonably the biggest night in any teenager's life. In case you require a plus size dress for this big event, there are a few considerations that you should make before settling on your dream dress. As with women of all sizes, considerations like color, fabric and style are essential.

Style- When it comes to style, there are some cuts that you need to avoid. It would be unrealistic to get a fairly style look especially if the dress is a figure fitting style. You could get one that highlights the part of your body you are most comfortable with. Maybe you could choose to highlight your waist and deflect attention from your thighs and hips. At all costs avoid tight-fitting styles.

Length- If you need a more traditional look, you could opt for a long dress perhaps the floor-length type. However, a more modern look requires a shorter dress that would cover your knees or maybe a little longer. You need to feel comfortable in your dress. Avoid long dresses that may drag on the floor or loose ones that may shift around your body.

Fabric- It is vital to carefully select the fabric finish to match your personality. If you plan to have a good time at the dance floor, ensure your desired dress can handle the movement. Keep away from long dresses that you can trip on, get caught in your shoes or be stepped on by other dancers. If you decide to go with a sleeveless dress, ensure it comes with wide straps that can snugly fit over your shoulders. These will keep it in place by avoiding any slip offs.
Colors- Neutral colors like black, white, gold, or nude will work for most women. Keep to a maximum of two or three colors. Avoid shiny finishes as these may exaggerate your size or accentuate some parts of your body that you may not be comfortable with.

Important Tips to Keep in Mind

• Begin the search for your plus size dresses for prom early. Give yourself three to four months.

• Make your purchase early enough. About six weeks in advance is ample time to sort out any adjustments or alterations that you may require.

• Keep to the dress you are comfortable with and avoid the urge to look like other people.

• Always have in mind the correct budget. This should cover any additional accessories like panty-hose, hair clips and make-up.

• Try and do some research of your own. You could use magazines, celebrity pictures or your local boutique.

• Try out several styles and cuts well beforehand.

• Once you have established your preferred style, try it out in different colors.

• Ensure you shop for your accessories in good time, preferably two months early. Try them out with your dress just in case your need to return some. Avoid getting stuck with expensive items.

• Don't shop for the dress too early. In case you have weight fluctuations it may not fit.

• A couple of weeks before the prom, try out your dress with all your accessories and make-up to get comfortable with you final look.

• When fitting out your dress with makeup, use a jacket or shirt to avoid smudging your dress.

If you seriously want to tighten, tone, and firm your troubled areas using It Works Body Wraps, keep reading. I am about to share my top 7 tips for getting best results. Keep in mind that while everyone is different and will experience different results, these proven techniques when done correctly will help anyone achieve a tighter, toner, firmer and improved texture to where ever the wrap is applied.

1. Hydrating your body properly is the most important thing that you can do and it will have a major impact on your results. You be should be drinking 1/2 your body weight in ounces every day. This is extremely important when it comes to body wrapping. If your body is not hydrated at the time of your application and the 72 hours after, you cannot realistically expect to see any changes at all. Drink plenty of water!

2. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so take pictures before and after wrapping. You need an objective way to track your results. A camera will not lie, embellish, or exaggerate. In my experience taking pictures is the best way to document and see how your body changes with every use.

3. Dry skin brushing followed by a hot shower prepares your body by removing dead skin and opening up your pours. This is important because the natural botanicals in the wrap can penetrate the skin easier and work faster.

4. Avoid foods that can cause bloating such as cabbage, beans, onions, dairy, broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts. These foods are notorious for creating gas and causing your gastrointestinal tract to expand. You don't have to completely change your diet but you should adjust accordingly.

5. Focus on one area at a time. Many people make the mistake of wrapping too many parts at the same time. If your stomach and your thighs are your target areas, wrap your stomach on day 1 and then wrap your thighs on day 3 (alternate).

6. Do a full treatment. In order to get maximum results you should do a total of four applications. This can be done once per week or for a more aggressive approach, every 3 days using defining gel between applications. Using the gel keeps the target area moisturized and the botanicals activated, use it like lotion!

7. Don't introduce toxins to a detox. When using this particular product you should avoid coffee, alcohol beverages, and smoking! Remember: this is a detox. What you put into your body is critical to your wrap results. You must avoid substances that will counteract what you are trying to achieve.

Implementing these 7 tips can make a major difference. Many people try the wrap for the first time at wrap parties. Some get good results and others don't. In many cases it's because of a counteraction that could've been avoided such as drinking, smoking etc. The other thing that you should understand is wrapping once at a wrap party is not a full treatment. it is only one out of four!

Follow all of these tips for an awesome wrapping experience with visible results. Do them and you will be pleased with what you see in the mirror. It works!

A woman whose body requires her to wear plus size dresses takes a bit of time to fix herself up appropriately. This means she has to carefully pick her wardrobe for the day. Her dress must effectively camouflage her physical flaws. More often than not, she prefers black and other dark color tones to address this need.

This situation is not a helpless one. Plus size dresses are flattering when worn with confidence and creativity. Here are some fantastic tricks and tips to make a flattering style with plus size dresses.

Pick the right tone colors

Black is an amazing color. There are also shades of grey and charcoal. Wear a brown dress, in light and dark shades. Dark blue, dark green, dark violet, dark red wine color, maroon and similar color hues are also good choices to flatter your persona.

Stick to dress styles that look great on your body size

There are different dress styles to choose from to create your personal look. A flowing skirt hides big hips. An A-line blouse conceals a heavy stomach. A top with a V neckline draws away attention from your chest. You can wear ruffles to camouflage a big neck and arms. Wear sleeves up to your elbows to hide big arms. Avoid wearing clinging pants and tights. Look for those that simply flow down your legs.

Stay away from tops and dresses with big prints as these just make you look heavier than your actual size. Wear horizontal stripes that are just the right size to downsize your appearance.

If you like wearing prints- flowers, circles, figures and other types, then prefer to wear smaller prints with a dark-colored background to balance your look.

Style your feet with great shoes

Your feet look longer and slimmer with high heels. Flats are good when wearing pants. Wear 2-inch pumps to create height in your appearance.

It helps to accessorize

Wear beautiful accessories to draw away attention from your heavy side. Wear dangling earrings and a long necklace to add creative flair to your aura. These ornaments help harmonize your total look. Just keep in mind to wear the right size of accessories to get the glam look.

Today, women who require plus size dresses are happy with a variety of styles created for them. The fashion industry knows the necessity for plus size dressing. Fashion designers create gorgeous lines of dresses for women who do not have to worry about their body shape. It is no longer difficult for any woman to look for plus size dresses.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Since the passing of our Old West, legends concerning famous
western characters have become so distorted and overworked, they appear
more like myths and historical fiction then true history accounts. Case
in question - Wyatt Earp, famous U. S. Marshal of Tombstone, Arizona.
His outstanding feats and accomplishments both good and bad have been
damaged almost beyond belief and reason.
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">To most historians of
western history Wyatt Earp was a courageous man of action and wore his
white hat proudly. His legendary feats were quickly lifted to
preposterous proportions and he seemed to be the greatest western lawman
to pin a tin badge on his shirt. Colorful newspaper and magazine
accounts further aided the legend and his reputation rose to greater
heights.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">But there supposedly was another side to the stories.
Over the years more detailed information has surfaced hinting that maybe
Wyatt Earp was not so great after all. In fact instead of a hero of the
western frontier he was nothing more than a gunfighter, itinerant
gambler and a hard-headed saloon keeper. I have my own opinions and
remain on the fence. As for further information, I'm sure it will simply
add a few more pages to western fiction.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The Old West produced a
large number of different varieties of legendary gunfighters. Most of
them, good and bad, have received the same treatment as Wyatt Earp.
Overnight they became heroes and were headlines in a newspaper. Of
course, there were exceptions. Bill Hickok had a somewhat of a mild
beginning. So one can have his or her mythical hero anyway they prefer.
It depends on what kind of literature you choose to read and feel good
after reading. One thing for sure, Wyatt Earp was damn good with a
six-gun.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Earp is most often portrayed as a sleepy-eyed, laid back
kind of fellow, very fast with a gun, and he knew how to use it to his
advantage. You did not want to tangle with the badge totin' lawman
unless you were looking for trouble and had a death wish. Several men
tried him but it was Earp that died in his old age. That tells it all.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">It
is also true that Wyatt Earp came from a large family of fighting men.
His father served in our bloody Civil War and later became a lawman.
Earp's brothers, Virgil, Morgan, James, and Warren were handy with
firearms as well. Some of them later shared in Wyatt's notoriety as a
lawman.
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">In his personal writings Earp claimed he kept his family
in fresh meat due to his ability as a hunter of wild game. His rifles
were a variety of cap and ball weapons, Colts, Remington, Starr, and
others. At this time in history, weapons were as much a part of a man's
apparel as his broad-brimmed Stetson hat, high-heeled boots, and long
spurs. A firearm was needed to bag game for the table and
self-preservation. There is no positive information as to what kind of
weapon Earp used in his early years that I could find.
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">In later
years after Earp became a lawman and his name begin to appear in
newspapers on a regular basis, controversy raised its ugly head. It
concerned Earp's status as a lawman and his actual rank. He was a member
of the Wichita, Kansas, law enforcement in Dodge City. He and two of
his brothers later went to Tombstone, Arizona, where they opened a
saloon.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Wyatt received some praise for his law work in Kansas
where he supposedly was well liked by the citizens. This report appeared
in the July 7, 1877, Dodge City Times: "It is not a good
policy to draw a gun on Wyatt Earp unless you got the drop and mean to
burn gunpowder without preliminary talk."
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Earp traveled throughout
the west during his lifetime, his rip-snorting escapades as a gunman
following him like a dark cloud. There was always some fool-hearted,
young buck ready and willing to face the famous Wyatt Earp to further
his own reputation. Few of them actually gave it a try, for looking into
Earp's cold eyes was to see death itself.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Lawless cow towns,
mining camps and railheads such as Wichita, Dodge City, Deadwood, and
Tombstone gave birth to other men such as Wyatt Earp. There were the
Masterson brothers, Bill Tilghman, Doc Holiday, Luke Short, Hardin,
William Boney, and a host of other gunfighters. Wyatt Earp's outstanding
career intermingled with most of them at one time or another.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">About
this time in our western history a new and note worthy weapon came on
the scene. It was the Army Colt Single Action Pistol,.45 caliber. It
became known by other names-such as The Frontier Six-Shooter,
Peacemaker, Equalizer, and The Weapon That Won the West. Like other
gunfighters, Wyatt Earp quickly used the gun to further enhance his
reputation.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">In Wyatt Earp's biography it states that Wyatt spent
some time in Kansas City's Market Square, a meeting place for men to
talk about guns, models, methods of shooting, and how to carry them.
Earp's preference was to tote a pistol on each side of his body in an
open holster slung low on his leg. His favorite weapon was his noted
"Buntline Special." Ned Buntline, alias Edward Z. E. Judson, was a
well-known pulp writer for the Wild West Magazine. Also he was a promoter and press agent for the famous Buffalo Bill Cody.
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">In
Stuart N. Lake's biography of Wyatt Earp, Lake said the Buntline
presented five twelve-inch barrel Colts to well-known Kansas lawmen:
Wyatt Earp, Neal Brown, Charlie Bassett, Bat Masterson, and noted
Oklahoma lawman, Bill Tilghman. It was Earp who made the Buntline pistol
famous. The movies and TV added to its reputation. It was more than
anyone could have dreamed in 1876.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Now, deception rears its ugly
head again. It was said the five Buntline weapons were accompanied with a
walnut shoulder stock. The Colt factory has no evidence to back up this
claim. They do list Colt pistols being shipped with a ten and a sixteen
inch barrel. It is more likely Buntline bought the sixteen-inch barrel
Colts and had the dealer cut them to twelve inches. Of course this is my
personal view. As for the shoulder stock, Colt had a skeleton type
stock made from cast bronze and nickel plating. This could also have
been done by a dealer using walnut wood and at Buntline's request.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The
never-forgotten fight at the O K Corral in Tombstone added blazing
immortality to the legend of Wyatt Earp. The incident has been written
over and over from every viewpoint possible. Therefore, I will not
attempt to repeat it here in detail. It was a historic gun battle
involving Wyatt, his brothers, and their friend and fellow gunman,
gambler Doc Holliday. Wyatt Earp was a peace officer in Tombstone at the
time. Now and again he rode shotgun for the Wells Fargo Company. He
served with devolution and great respect. As for his so called shady
past, I can only rub my chin and smile with wonder.

Colt Apparel

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Among the dozens of questions I get about training horses, one keeps repeating: "How Do I Teach My Colt To Lead?"
Many folks wrongly start training a colt to lead by taking hold of the halter and pulling straight ahead. In the process of doing so the head piece of the halter comes down hard on the colt's head and he naturally tries to pull away.
If you continue to pull he'll often rear and possibly go over backward and he might hurt himself (and possibly others in the process).

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">There is a much better and safer way! The safest way to lead the colt is to take hold of the strap, stand next to his right shoulder and made a quick pull to the side. This will pull the colt's head toward you and the colt will naturally step toward you.
If he only steps a little bit, stop and caress and praise him. Repeat the pull until he turns toward you at the slightest touch of the strap. Sometimes you might have to pull to the right and then quickly to the left to get the colt to start. Once he starts or shows an inclination to start, stop and praise him.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">After a while you'll be able to start him to the side and then take him forward.
In the most stubborn of animals it may be necessary to use the Pulley Breaking Bridle. If needed you can also apply a slight tap with the whip. Be sure only to use the whip as an encourager - never "whip" or hit the animal to cause pain. Use it to "nudge" him a little.
You'll soon have him leading everywhere you want. By applying the confidence lesson learned in Beery's Lesson #1 he'll actually be following you wherever you care to lead him without a strap. All this, and dozens more useful lessons, are taught in the full Jesse Beery 8 Volume Course in Horse Training.
Stay safe around your horses.
Tate

If you are reading this article, I'm assuming that you've read the first part of this subject, my article "Training Colts Part 1." It gives a good primer to learn more about training your colt as we move forward.
After your colt has become comfortable with lunging, and he's listening to you well and completing the things that you ask him to do, it's time to take another step forward. At this stage, he should of course be halter trained (meaning he's broke to lead) and has now become comfortable with lunging. It's time to start getting him used to the saddle.

What I like to do is get my horse tied to a fence. Always try to tie your horse to the post of a fence; if a horse fights hard enough, he could easily throw his head and break the board from the middle of a fence.

I'd like to make a note here--no matter how gentle your horse is, tie him up when you first go to saddle him. Even the gentlest horse can sometimes be unpredictable, and since horses are so large and powerful, it's better to be safe about these sorts of things.

When you tie your horse up, be sure and have a halter on him, not a bit and bridle. Reins are much easier for a horse to break if he's tied up and decides to throw his head up. Then, after tying him up, spend a little time just talking to him and running your hands along him, calming him. If he seems a little nervous, give him a little more time. Basically, your horse should get the idea that this is not a big deal.

Start with your saddle blanket. The blanket is a nice tool to start with, to get your horse used to the idea of something on his back. It's light and easily moved around. Lift it up gently but naturally onto your horse, moving it around on his back a little bit and on his sides, and after a while move it all over him, under his belly and against his legs once he seems comfortable with the back and sides. This will just help get him used to the feel of something foreign touching him, and teach him that it's nothing to be afraid of.

Be sure and have patience. It may take your horse a while to get used to the situation. It really does pay to have patience with him. Don't try to force him into accepting the saddle. He's got to do it in his own time.

The copyright of the article Training Colts, Part 2 in Horse Training is owned by Caryn A. In the wild, they’re able to survive on scarce pastures, storing excess weight during the summer in preparation for limited foliage in winter.

Yet, as domesticated animals, they often consume high-starch, high-concentrate grain feeds once or twice a day, with limited or no grazing access.

And that’s not even mentioning the high-sugar treats we owners love to feed them.

Before the 20th century, horses were primarily used as work animals; their jobs transporting humans or powering farm equipment ensured regular exercise. Today,we use horses primarily for recreation, and some are more accurately classified as “yard ornaments.”

Too much food, too little exercise–it’s the guaranteed formula for weight gain. As it turns out, though, there are a few other surprising factors contributing to our horses’ bulging sides.

The easy keeper. Some horses just don’t need many calories to maintain optimal body condition. Kentucky Equine Research, Inc., conducted a survey and found that owners who describe their horses as “easy keepers” tend to find it virtually impossible to reduce their horses’ weights by calorie restriction alone. Moreover, these owners assert they’re not dishing out high starch feeds.

This photo gives a close-up view of this horse

Super-grass. Surprisingly, one of the primary weight-gain factors is vastly improved forage. Over the years, the nutritional content of forage has increased. As free-roaming grazers, horses thrived on sparse pastures and diverse forage. Today’s forage is limited in species, primarily consisting of those grasses and legumes best for maximizing nutrition. Plus, genetic technology has further boosted the nutrition value of these forages, meaning horses are getting pasture and hays that are higher in starch and carbs than ever before.

The time of day a horse grazes can make a difference, too. Rhonda Hoffman, PhD, PAS, associate professor of equine science at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, explains that during photosynthesis, green plants produce glucose and other sugars, with oxygen as a byproduct in the presence of light. As a result, forage carbohydrates naturally rise throughout the morning and peak in the late afternoon due to continuous exposure to light. Plant carbs then decline overnight and into the early morning hours. That means horses that graze in the afternoon, as opposed to during the night or early morning, are likely to ingest two to four times as much sugar, starch, and fructans, and are therefore at a greater risk of obesity.

We like ‘em plump. In many cases, we just prefer to see our horses carrying extra weight. For halter horses, especially, a “meatier” profile has traditionally been desirable. Emotionally, it’s pleasant to feel that you’re feeding your horse “plenty,” but in reality the extra calories aren’t doing him any favors.
Refer this website http://www.equisearch.com/horses_care/health/anatomy/overweight_horses_030209Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1330192119167907281.post-74326333635530515472011-02-14T21:34:00.000-08:002011-02-14T21:35:42.998-08:00Horse Extreme Sports Tourist Attractions in MalaysiaNews from Malaysia on horse events

most of the people of this state until the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin play an important role pioneering Sultan's Cup Terengganu Championship Endurance Challenge (SCTE).

He called the number one sports fan and also a rider capable of pushing through the SCTE first edition in 2002 in Sungai Tong Setiu.

The tournament, which highlighted the concept of sports tourism in this country were finally able to put the City in the prestigious tournament destination map, class dunia.Ia start to the race distance of 80 kilometers (km) in accordance with the provisions of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) and Equestrian Association of Malaysia (EAM) followed a similar tournament in Lake Kenyir, the following year.

The success of that led to the creation of Terengganu Endurance Ride (IEA) in 2004, the race distance of 140km for the first time was held at the Valley SCTE Bidong, Setiu a permanent venue kejohanan.Ekoran made great achievements, the IEA-led EAM and urged his world championship bid , FEI World Endurance Championship (WEC). Tate

The foremost thing to keep in your mind when you’re beginning to train a young horse is to have patience. Always remember that a horse won’t know something if you haven’t properly taught it to him yet. A good way to remember that, in a way that most of us will recognize readily, is to compare the colt to a child; if you tell a child to read something, and he hasn’t learned how to read properly, he won’t be able to read it to you.
The reason I stress this idea so fervently is because so many people tend to lose patience with colts. A lot of people tend to immediately think a horse is being stubborn, rebellious, or is spoiled—which, of course, can certainly be the case. But many times the colt simply doesn’t understand what it is their trainer is asking them to do. Don’t lose patience and/or your temper with the horse because of miscommunication.

Another major thing to keep in mind is that when a horse is young, just like people or any other animal, they’re especially sensitive to their environment and what they’re exposed to. This is the time when they learn how to behave around humans, and how to react to training methods and people in general.

For instance, in a case where the colt hasn’t grasped yet what you’ve been trying to teach him: If you immediately lose patience with the horse, get angry, and punish him for not doing as you asked him to do, he’ll react. He’ll probably act nervous around you (at least for a while), possibly become head-shy (throwing up his head whenever you raise a hand or make a quick movement), become more and more stubborn towards what you want, and less and less willing to cooperate with you. In this situation, the frustration grows and grows between both of you and not much, if anything, is gained.

However, in the same case, if you retain your patience and try again and again to teach the colt what it is you’re trying to teach him, believe me, it pays off. Believe it or not, the horse will appreciate your extra effort, and will usually try harder to understand what it is you’re saying. If you find that the approach you’re using isn’t working, think of another way to get across to your horse. This is where knowing your horse comes in. If you know each other well, it will be much easier for you to think of alternative methods of teaching that he’ll understand easier.

The copyright of the article Training Colts, Part 1 in Horse Training is owned by Caryn A. Dan Peterson, in his book “Fergus, The Soccer-Playing Colt” (Raven Publishing, ISBN 0971415176, 2005) provides comic relief with a conscience.

Fergus, a palomino colt at Simpson Farms, displays unusual talents. Besides twirling in the air and executing daring back flips, Fergus loves to play soccer. Bobby Simpson and his friend, Ramon, set up a goal in the pasture and let Fergus guard it while they practice penalty kicks and heading the ball. The agile colt blocks all their shots. He flicks the ball off his nose or whirls around and kicks it with his back feet.

Soon the local news, then CNN and other networks feature the golden goalkeeper. People flock to the farm to watch Fergus play with the boys. All the publicity boosts the popularity of soccer in the United States, drawing the attention of Ian Connor from the International Soccer Federation. He asks to “borrow” Fergus and the boys for a fourteen-city tour promoting the colt and the sport of soccer. The boys’ parents agree and the tour launches successfully with Fergus enjoying the matches and playing flawlessly. All goes well until the colt is horse-napped partway through the tour by three bad guys who scheme to turn him into a bucking rodeo champ. The rest of the story relates Fergus’s struggles and his return to Simpson Farms.

Peterson modeled Fergus after his own palomino horse which he raised from a weanling. “The book is based loosely on that horse. He could open gates, get grain out of an old tire; he would also carry around a ball (with a handle on it) or anything else he could pick up that interested him,” explains Peterson.

“Fergus” has a message for the readers. According to Peterson, his preteen audiences learn “that differences are a good thing and not a bad thing; that teamwork is a good way to accomplish goals.” Peterson, when asked he wants his readers to know, he states, “I am 65 and have never given up wanting to get something published, showing that anything is possible when you stay with it.”

Peterson is a co-owner, with his wife, of Alphabet Station, an educational supply store in Salt Lake City and Orem, Utah. He has a degree in journalism and served as editor for three trade publications, as well as developed and evaluated curricula.

Colt Apparel

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1330192119167907281.post-14041322908603777422010-04-06T20:24:00.000-07:002010-04-06T20:52:04.663-07:00Trendy Rhinestone Apparel and What To Look For(Colt Apparel)
Colt Apparel

As you know, fashion is changing all the time. Things that were in 10 years are ago are back on the clothing rack, bringing back memories but starting a new one with their new and improved appearance. One thing that has been pretty consistent over the years is the pretty, sparkling rhinestone. The one and only thing that has changed is the quality.

When buying anything, quality is very important. You don't want to throw down $40 on a one of a kind t-shirt and have it fade after a couple of washes. You need to be able to trust what you are buying is going to last you for as long as you opt to wearing the garment. Knowing this, we at IBXpressions.com take quality very seriously. The rhinestones that we use are permanent and will NOT fall off after washings (following washing instructions). We only provide top of the line t-shirts, sweat shirts, hoodies, yoga gear, bags and hats! We stand behind everything we sale and if you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, we will refund your money!

We are the home of unique and one-of-a-kind rhinestone apparel. There are hundreds of websites out there selling rhinestone apparel but what you have to look out for is not only the quality of the garment, but the quality of the rhinestone as well. There are several different types of rhinestones out on the market today. Some sites in regards to cost will offer plastic (acrylic) rhinestones. These rhinestones do not sparkle like the glass crystals that we use. If you are in the market in purchasing a rhinestone garment, make sure you are getting the SPARKLE you want! Because honestly, what is the point of buying a rhinestone garment if it isn't going to sparkle in the sun!

IBXpressions has ready to go t-shirts and other products, but some of these products you can personalize yourself. For an even more personalized option, if you have a design you would like to put on a t-shirt, hat, hoodie or on any other product, and you want to see it sparkle in vibrate colors, you can send in your design to our design team and we will draft up a mock template. We will provide you a copy of the template, then, you can decide if you want to purchase it. That simple! Express Yourself in Sparkle today!

About the Author

IBXpressions | Trendy Rhinestone T Shirts and Apparel - http://www.ibxpressions.com Home of discounted trendy rhinestone apparel, rhinestone t shirts, swarovski crystal apparel, crystal t-shirts, customized t-shirts, apparel and motifs.
Colt ApparelUnknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1330192119167907281.post-70864137347834551612010-04-01T11:05:00.000-07:002010-04-01T11:13:25.930-07:00The Colt Machine Guns(Colt Apparel)

Colt Apparel

The Colt Machine Guns

The first gas-operated machine gun was the Colt-Browning M1895. They were supplemented by two Colts from the TEXAS that were off-loaded and delivered on the mid-morning of June 12, by the TEXAS' own Marines. Not only did the Colt's provide supportive defensive fire at Camp McCalla, but three of the four weapons were operated by Company C in the battle of Cuzco Well on June 14th, and, according to the account of Pvt. A tripod mounted Colt also saw action in use by Naval and Marine personnel in the taking of Guánica, Puerto Rico.

The two 7mm Colts of the Rough Riders were also carried into action on tripods, eventually using captured Spanish ammunition. In addition to the ground use of the weapon, the Colt was also mounted on various warships and auxiliary warships in the conflict. One could argue that the Colt's service in the Spanish American War was, at best, modest, as compared to the use of the Gatling gun. However, the Colt did usher in the age of the machine gun in United States service (although the US Army never formally adopted the Colt it recognized the value of the machine gun) and pointed to a century in which the machine gun would quickly become a dominant arm in warfare.

Colt

While this early Browning design would quickly be surpassed by more modern designs, several by Browning himself, it would still see continued manufacture by Colt and Marlin-Rockwell into the second decade of the 1900's. The Colt would see further combat service with US forces in the Philippine-American War and the Boxer Rebellion. The "Colt" featured a unique action of operation that proved to be relatively robust and durable if not completely reliable. However, the Colt was simpler, lighter, and easier to handle, all important considerations for naval service that would require a varied and flexible use of the weapon.

The Colt was fired in bursts rather than in continual and extended firing that would become a well known trait of water cooled machine guns. The Colt machine guns were used by the Rough Riders. Patent in 1836 for the Colt firearm equipped with a revolving cylinder containing five or six bullets with an innovative cocking device. Both this model and Weapon No 124are of this caliber so were in fact made by Colt for the Italians.

America adopted Browning's designs mainly manufactured by the Colt plant. It was followed by the Colt machinegun designed by Browning. Paul Mauser 1838-1914 was the son of a German gunsmith who had developed the famous K98 Colt action rifle and up to the end of the First World War his firm had provided the bulk of the rifles and semi automatic pistols for the German Army.

About the Author

Clyde Roberts is a successful Webmaster and publisher of www.ExpertsonGuns.com. Over the past few years, may companies have made the switch to a corporate casual dress code. And for companies, this corporate apparel can translate into a retail line that can be used to market the business. If you are a business owner considering in investing in an apparel line, here are a number of things to consider.

Is the apparel for employees or for clients? If it is for employees it should be seen as incentive. Corporate apparel and business casual dress code is a factor that employees rate as very important in employment satisfaction. Create apparel that employees can wear to work for different occasions. Create oxford shirts and ties for boardroom casual, and Polo shirts for everyday business casual. Also, consider the type of business, as contractors generally choose different fashion than lawyers or bankers. There are a number of accessories that can be branded with company logo for employees to use at home or at travel as well.

Is the apparel line for marketing to clients? And if so, how do you want the apparel to be used? Think of the client base for the type of business here also. Buy something that will appeal to most of the client base. Conduct a test run to see which type of shirt people like most. Business want to expose their companies using corporate apparel, so don't choose a style that will end up in salvage next year.

Remember to choose a color shirt that coordinates with the logo. A blue logo may not show up well or even look good on a blue shirt. Color tone and logo color should compliment each other, not compete.

When people order their apparel, they typically want to know how the sizing runs for a particular item. Most apparel manufacturers have size charts that let you know the exact measurements for a given item. You can use these charts during ordering so everyone knows the exact size of the item they are ordering.

Using brand name apparel is often a good selling point. People are more likely to purchase brands that they recognize, as opposed to off-brands. Brand name apparel lines are known for their quality and popularity and will help you to sell more apparel.

When creating an apparel line, don't forget a few accessories and promotional items. Besides shirts and hats, think of items that are useful to employees or clients, again, depending on the type of business. For companies that have picnics or festival, blankets and towels are a great promotional item. There are also plenty of useful gadgets like lights, calculators, and letter openers that can be used for promotional items.

About the Author

Angela Oliver is a contributing author for Embroidery Authority.com, offering competitive pricing for all custom embroidered logos, apparel, and accessories. This new generation of female golfers want fashionable golf clothing that is also functional. The growth in this new fashion market is being described as explosive. Fashion on the Course is no longer khaki pants and a boxy cut polo shirt for women. Many golf apparel companies are now addressing what women want.

Women who are not necessarily golfers are wearing golf clothes. The clothes are becoming known as "lifestyle clothing" to accommodate the rising trend of leisure activities. Golf retailers have definitely modernized their women's golf clothing lines with a colorful palette, a number of fabric choices, design and cut which is very much appreciated but what makes their lines "lifestyle clothing". The designers have crafted their clothes to transition from casual to work to social occasions. While you have always been able to wear golf clothing on and off the course, the new "lifestyle clothing" has a smart, trendy, modern and classy look. The ladies golf apparel that is emerging today is made with technical fabrics that have UV protection, perspiration guards, cooling performance, comfort stretch and more. Updated styling from the designers includes skorts, shirts with no collars, Capri pants, short skirts, with a more fitted style. Many of these new golf garments are truly fashionable and can double in your life after the game is over. This comes in handy especially if you find yourself short on time.

If you wish to be comfortable on the golf course, you will need to consider functional clothing, this does not mean you need to abandon style. Your focus should be on what is comfortable for you to wear and will help you achieve your goals on the course. There is no sense in being dressed to the nine's if you cannot hit the golf ball off the tee or if you feel extremely uncomfortable.
Golf apparel must be functional and needs to comply with the rules and regulations for both private and public courses. Many courses require collared shirts and shorts or skirts that are not too short. Respect for the game should be in the forefront of the designer's minds, with some added spunk that has been missing.

Bella Golf Wear is your source for very stylish yet, functional ladies golf apparel and accessories from top designers visit us at http://www.bellagolfwear.com
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Julie_Burton

Colt ApparelUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0
